Job Description

This role will be hybrid, working alongside our European offices in Dublin, Belfast, London, Poland and Romania on our core products and major customer solutions. Skytek is looking for a dynamic and experienced Business Developer with a strong background in the insurance market, particularly in the shipping sector with an understanding of best practices and how to implement them at a business-wide level and looking for an opportunity to grow.

The professional will work as part of a small and agile team of like-minded colleagues and you will be based around Europe. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of industry knowledge, sales expertise, and a proven track record of success in selling software solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive business growth, forge strategic partnerships, and make a significant impact within the insurance and shipping industries.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and target key prospects within the insurance market, with a specific focus on the shipping sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business challenges and requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing timely responses.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized software solutions that align with client requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling insurance products and services to existing clients.
  • Develop and execute account strategies to achieve sales targets and meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging presentations to clients, showcasing the value proposition of Skytek’s insurance offerings.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify potential opportunities and threats.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and account status.
  • Prepare regular reports and updates on account performance, revenue forecasts, and progress towards sales objectives.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create customized marketing materials and campaigns for insurance clients.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand the company’s presence in the insurance sector.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for building a successful sales team focused on insurance products and services.
  • Create and develop a sales team.
  • Set clear sales targets and performance expectations for team members and provide ongoing feedback and evaluation.
  • Develop and implement sales training programs to enhance the team’s product knowledge, sales techniques, and client relationship management skills.
  • Create and execute a sales playbook outlining best practices, sales processes, and approaches for engaging with insurance clients.
  • Identify and suggest marketing improvements based on sales targets.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • BSc in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • Proven track record of success in insurance sales or account management, with a minimum of 6 – 8 years of experience.
  • In-depth understanding of the insurance industry, including various types of insurance products and services.
  • Strong understanding of the shipping industry, including key players, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to analyze client needs and tailor solutions to address specific requirements.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to travel to meet clients and attend industry events as needed.

The professional will work as part of a small and agile team of like-minded colleagues and you will be based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. This is a crucial and demanding technical role and exciting career progression opportunities exist for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Safeguarding information system assets
  • Protecting systems by defining access privileges, control structures and resources
  • Implementing security improvements
  • Troubleshooting security and network problems
  • Respond to all system and/or network security breaches
  • Ensure that the organization’s data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls
  • Participate in the change management process
  • Test and identify network and system vulnerabilities
  • Daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with the relevant departments in the organization
  • Evaluate the organization’s security needs and establish best practices and standards accordingly
  • Design, implement, maintain, oversee, and upgrade all security measures needed to protect organizations’ data, systems, and networks
  • Respond to all security breaches to the network and associated systems
  • Troubleshooting all network and security issues and incidents

  • 6-7 years experience in the cybersecurity industry.
  • Public Trust security clearance, or a willingness to obtain one.
  • SIEM – Security information and event management systems development.
  • System penetration testing web application solutions development.
  • Advanced Network configuration and management expertise / Cisco IOS expertise.
  • VMware ESXi / VMware vCenter Server administration/solution development
  • OOSIM module custom development
  • Network packet analysis solutions implementation.
  • Ubuntu 18.04 advanced security configuration and Apt package management based solution development.
  • WSUS management and configuration.
  • Wireshark, tcpdump, Snort based solution development.
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection, Clamav application configuration and usage.
  • Docker, orchestration deployment experience.
  • Infrastructure as code definition and rollout.
  • Advanced PowerShell/Bash scripting development.
  • Knowledge of C, Python, web stack frameworks related to security solutions implementation.
  • Very strong communication and presentation skills to end client on security products/solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize projects.
  • A broad understanding of all aspects of software development.
  • Knowledge of secure coding best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
